About Myself
Well, theres a fair amount I could tell you about myself but don't worry, I won't bore you with all the intricate details. I'm originally from Switzerland, however have been moving around with my parents since I've been young and had the opportunity to live in the US, England, Japan and Sweden. For the majority of the last five years I have been living and studying in York, England and graduated with a Bachelors Honours degree from the York University in the summer of 2006. After university I worked for half a year for a small London based web design company (JAM Design) after which I spent the winter season snowboarding in Morzine, France. In my spare time I enjoy doing a wide variety of things, but particularly enjoy computer programming, sports and having a laugh with friends. I have worked on a number of my own small programming projects in the past, and am particularly keen on 3D graphics (OpenGL) related ones. I also take exercise and my personal fitness fairly seriously trying to stay fit by frequently swimming. I also perform some seasonal sports and in the summer enjoy going skydiving (have done just under 100 jumps) or scuba diving (app. 35 dives) while in the winter I particularly like going snowboarding (which I have done for the last 11 years).

I have devided to make a cut down version of my CV available online and you can find it here. Should you wish to have a copy of my full CV including references, please contact me using my contact form or via one of the methods shown on the right.
What is Eternal Flux?
Eternal flux is a website I decided to build for myself to showcase some of the stuff I've been working on these last few years (both from University and my spare time). I quickly decided to make it a bit more than that and decided it would be a nice place to host a photo gallery to share pictures taken both by my friends and by myself. Before building this site I had never built a complete website from scratch up and wanted the entire process to be a good learning experience to boost my knowledge of web development and web based technologies.
As mentioned previously, the site has been developed from scratch up using nothing but a text editor and Photoshop. I could have used existing components such as BBlog, Gallery or a full blown Content Management System, however this would have defeated some of the purposes of building the site in the first place. I also find that websites that do use these components tend to look rather boring and generic. The site has been built using PHP with a MySQL database and has been written to be compliant with XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.0 standards. All in all, I think my first attempt at a website has been not too bad at all, and now that I have the core functionality in place I can start playing about with the styling to get something that looks slightly flashier. Don't expect anything too fancy though as I'm not such a great artist...
